Time preserved in a shell mound unfolds across three walls and leads to the sea of Taean.
An immersive film created for a broad central screen and two inward-angled side walls at Gonam Shell Mound Museum. The story moves from the discovery of a shell mound through prehistoric life, changing seasons and layers of accumulated shells, ending where past and present meet at the sea of Taean.
Life by the sea
ADRM created a film for the museum’s three-screen installation, with a broad central screen and two inward-angled side walls. Beginning with the discovery of a shell mound, the story follows prehistoric daily life and changing seasons before revealing the layers that build up over time.
Shells and animals preserved in the strata begin to glow and move, opening the scene onto the sea of Taean. Movement across the side walls and light converging on the central screen connect the three surfaces into a continuous scene.
